What is the Family Share Plan?
Created as our response to the desire to see Kingdom people, organizations, and communities thrive and be resourced to do all God has called them to do, The Family Share Plan is Connect My City’s Revenue-Share Affiliate Program. The Family Share Plan is similar to the well known Amazon Smile or any other affiliate program in that you simply receive an affiliate referral commission when you refer business who joins the Connect My City Directory. The affiliate gets a unique link (an “affiliate link”) from which clicks can be tracked — typically using cookies. The cookie then tracks the user to see if they make a purchase, we also allow new members to fill in the black so we can attribute a refferal later if an affiliate link was not used, or expired. Our goal is to grow together, and fund Kingdom advancement, not to find a way to limit payouts.

Revenue-sharing is not a new marketing concept, modern affiliate marketing usually refers to online digital marketing in which affiliates link to a business’s product or service online and receive a percentage of sales or web traffic. In most cases this would be correct, however we have created our programs with community leaders, business owners, non-profit leaders, churches and individuals in mind. Our program can be used by anyone regardless of the size of their online reach. Our program is about connecting on a local basis.
Can Non-Profit’s use affiliate programs to reach their fundraising goals?
Absolutely, many have been doing this for years through programs like Amazon Smile and many more. In 2013, Amazon launched AmazonSmile as a way to make it easier for their customers to give back. Unfortunately for many they cancelled this program in 2023. Non-profits use affiliate programs to diversify revenue streams, increase interaction with donors, and benefit from what donors are already doing; this can increase brand awareness and reduce financial burdens for a non-profit during lean times.
